Roads Act 1993, Section 75

 

Proposed Temporary Closure of Whitechurch Road

 Co. Dublin

 

 

To facilitate the Office of Public Works (East Region Construction) to carry out works on Whitechurch Road Bridge as part of the Whitechurch Bridge Flood Alleviation Scheme,  South Dublin County Council propose to temporarily close a section of the following road:

 

Road Name:                           Whitechurch Road Bridge to 18 Meters South of the Bridge

 

From:                                      Monday 30th June 2025

 

To:                                          Friday 18th July  2025

 

Time of Closure:                   24 hrs

 

Detour route:                          Travelling North to South:

                                                  For local access, two-way traffic will be maintained   

 on Whitechurch Road to St. Gatien’s Court. All other       traffic should use the Grange Road (R821 – R822) to Taylor’s Lane following the diversion signs.

 

Travelling South to North:

For local access, two-way traffic will be facilitated on Whitechurch Road from Sarah Curran Avenue to St. Gatiens Court with a Stop/Go traffic management system.

 

  All other traffic should use Grange Road (R822-R821) from Taylors Lane (or Sarah Curran Avenue from Whitechurch Road) to Willbrook Road, following the diversion signs.

 

Detour Length:                      4km

 

  • Local access to be maintained at all times.

  • 24 hr emergency access to be maintained.

 

 

Any person interested may lodge an observation/submission in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 or by email to seoroads@sdublincoco.ie no later than 5.00 p.m. on Monday 16th June 2025.
