Proposed Temporary Closure of
Whitechurch Road, Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin
To facilitate the Office of Public Works in conjunction with South Dublin County Council to construct a foul sewer diversion, South Dublin County Council propose to close a section of the following road:
Road Name: Whitechurch Rd, Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin
(from the entrance to St. Gatien’s Court to 15m north of the entrance to St. Gatien’s Court).
From: Monday 12th August 2024
To: Sunday 1st September 2024
Time of Closure: 24h hours daily (including weekends)
Detour Route:
Travelling North to South:
For local access, two-way traffic will be maintained on Whitechurch Road to St. Endas Drive. All other traffic should use the Grange Road (R821- R822) to Taylors Lane, following the diversion signs.
Travelling South to North:
For local access, two-way traffic will be facilitated on Whitechurch Road from Sarah Curran Avenue to St. Gatiens Court with a Stop / Go Traffic Management system.
All other traffic should use Grange Road (R822-R821) from Taylors Lane (or Sarah Curran Avenue from Whitechurch Road) to Willbrook Road, following the diversion signs.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on Whitechurch Road at all times.
Detour Length: 4km approx..
Any person interested may lodge an observation/submission in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 or by email to seoroads@sdublincoco.ie not later than 5.00 p.m. on Monday, 29th July 2024.
