On Monday 18 October 2021, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Peter Kavanagh officially opened the new Pavilion at Old Bawn, Dodder Valley Park. The Mayor was joined by local Councillors, Mr. Daniel McLoughlin, Chief Executive, Ms. Teresa Walsh, Director of Services, staff of South Dublin County Council, and guests, to celebrate this event.
Speaking at the event Mayor Cllr. Peter Kavanagh said:
“The provision of changing rooms and storage facilities at this location is in line with South Dublin County Council’s aim to support and promote the health and wellbeing of the people of South Dublin County. The delivery of this new building will support the development of Dodder Valley and allow recreational facilities to progress further within this well-used park.”
The pavilion was constructed by J. S Dooley Ltd. and consists of 4 changing rooms, a referee room and a storage room. To facilitate the usage of the new pavilion a bespoke user-friendly Booking System that integrates with the building access system has been developed by South Dublin County Council in conjunction with Sportkey. This new innovative system will allow the Council to manage and monitor our facilities effectively, while making the booking process seamless, easy to use, and accessible for all who wish to play sport at Dodder Valley Park.
