Beautiful South Dublin Schools Competition Awards
Mayor Thérèse Ridge will present the awards in the first schools environmental competition on Tuesday 23rd May in the County Hall, Tallaght.
The competition is sponsored by South Dublin County Council and encourages students in primary and secondary schools to examine issues regarding the environment. The topics this year were
o Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
o Your environment now and how to make it better
o Litter, make it go away
The entries range from models, puppets, posters and books on recycling, and even a guitar notice board – all made from a wide range of recycled material and supporting the Reduce, Reuse & Recycle principle.
“This competition, sponsored by South Dublin County Council, supports the Green Schools programme. One of the best parts of my job is when I get to visit schools, to help raise their Green Flags. 19 schools in the County have the Green Flag and as Mayor I would like to see a green forest of flags in South Dublin” says Mayor Thérèse Ridge.
