The Council has now successfully completed its Accelerated Gas Fired Central Heating Programme. And what’s more, it’s ahead of all National Targets!
As part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to Customer Care and in line with the Council’s Corporate Plan theme for a “Customer Focused Organization”, the Housing Projects Section has undertaken a customer satisfaction survey during the course of this two-year central heating programme.
1,800 questionnaires were sent to all those tenants whose homes were involved and in excess of 600 questionnaires were returned over the two-year period. The questionnaires sought information on levels of heating costs, satisfaction with the installation process, difference on quality of life, difference to children’s schooling, ability to use the system, and access to card top up agents.
To encourage tenants to participate in this survey, Bord Gais provided a prize of €500 free gas credit during both years of the programme. This year’s successful entrant Mr Bekir Lagumdza, 4 Palmer Park, Ballyboden, Dublin 14 was presented with his prize by Mayor Therese Ridge at County Hall Tallaght on Tuesday 9th May. A delegation from the London borough of Brent including the Mayor of Brent Colum Maloney, Cllr Ruth Moher and Cllr Jim Moher also attended the presentation. Following the ceremony Donal Clancy Marketing Manager from Bord Gais, presented the findings of the Customer Satisfaction Survey in the Library Conference room. Some of the findings of the survey are as follows:
• 93% found an improvement in the comfort of their homes.
• 78% said they now have more disposable income.
• 75% indicated their gfch system is positively contributing to the educational performance of their children.
• 73% said that the gfch system is impacting positively on the health and well being of their families.
The success of the Accelerated Gas Fired Central Heating programme has been overwhelming based upon all the positive comments and responses received following the surveys that were carried out over the two-year period of the programme.
