NOTICE TO BE PUBLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE ROADS ACT, 1993, AS AMENDED BY THE ROADS (AMENDMENT) ACT 1998 (AS AMENDED BY THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS, 2000-2002) IN RELATION TO AN APPLICATION FOR THE APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED ROAD DEVELOPMENT ANDTHE PREPARATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
N7 MONASTERY ROAD BRIDGE: ROAD DEVELOPMENT, 2005

South Dublin County Council has prepared an Environmental Impact Statement in respect of the N7 MonasteryRoad Bridge as illustrated below:

South Dublin County Council has applied to An Bord Pleanála for approval of the proposed road development under section 51 of the Roads Act, 1993as amended by the Roads (Amendment) Act 1998 (asamended by the Planning and Development Acts,2000-2002).

The scheme provides for:
  • A new cable stay bridge linking the Luas Park and Ride facility at the Red Cow Interchange and Monastery Road
A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be inspected at:
  • South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall,Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9:00am -5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am-4.30pm Friday;
  • Civic Offices, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 between the hours of 9.00am -12.45pm and2.00pm - 4.00pm Monday to Friday;
  • Clondalkin Library, Monastery Road, Clondalkin,Dublin 22 between the hours of 9.45am - 8.00p.m.Monday to Thursday and 9.45am - 4.30pm Friday and Saturday;
  • County Library, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9.45am - 8.00pm Monday toThursday and 9.45am - 4.30pm Friday andSaturday.
From Thursday August 4th 2005 until Thursday September 1st 2005. A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be purchased for a fee of €30.00 from County Hall,Tallaght and Civic Offices, Clondalkin only. A copy of the non-technical summary may also be purchased for a fee of €2.00 at the two above locations.

Alternatively, the Environmental Impact Statement is available on CD-Rom and may be purchased from the two above locations for a fee of €15.00. A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement is also available on the South Dublin County Council Website.

Written submissions in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposed road development may be made to An Bord Pleanála, 64 MarlboroughStreet, Dublin 1, up to close of business on Friday 16th September, 2005.

It should be noted that the proposed bridge is an alternative to that already approved by An Bord Pleanala as part of the M50 Upgrade Scheme.The Board may hold an oral hearing in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposal.
Evidence in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposal may be given at the oral hearing.

Before making its decision on the application for approval, the Board must consider the Environmental Impact Statement, any written submissions made to it and not withdrawn and, where an oral hearing is held, the report and any recommendations of the inspector holding the oral hearing where evidence was given in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposal.

Public notice of any Oral Hearing will be given at a later date.
