Assessment of Need for Housing and other Accommodation and of the Number of Homeless Persons 2005

In accordance with s.9 of the Housing Act 1988 and s.6 of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act 1998, South Dublin County Council is preparing the following assessments as at 31st March 2005:

(i.) assessment of need for local authority housing accommodation
(ii.) assessment of need for residential caravan parks for Travellers, and
(iii.) assessment of the number of homeless people Applications for inclusion on the assessment will be considered from persons who:
(a) require or are likely to require accommodation from South Dublin County Council; and,
(b) are in need of housing and are unable to provide it from their own resources.

PERSONS WHO HAVE ALREADY APPLIED TO SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL FOR HOUSING ACCOMMODATION NEED NOT RE-APPLY

Voluntary organisations dealing with homeless persons and with other persons in need of
accommodation are asked to advise their clients to contact the Council, if they have not already done so to ensure that they are included in the Assessment. Alternatively, the voluntary organisations themselves may wish to submit details of persons in need of accommodation.
Applications for inclusion in the assessment should be submitted to the Council at the earliest possible date and preferably not later than 16/03/2005.
