HOUSING ACT 1988:

TRAVELLER ACCOMMODATION PROGRAMME AND ASSESSMENT OF HOUSING NEEDS

 

South Dublin County Council is about to prepare a new Traveller Accommodation Programme for the period 1st January 2005 to 31st December 2008, to cover the functional area of South Dublin County.

Submissions are now invited from any Groups, Organisations or individuals for consideration in the preparation of the draft programme.

 

As part of the above process it is also intended to carry out an Assessment of Housing Needs of Travellers normally resident in the County to establish the need for both Traveller Specific Accommodation and Standard Social Housing either existing now or likely to arise by 31st December 2008.

 

Applications for inclusion in the Assessment will be considered from persons:

 

(a)                Who are Travellers  and require, or a likely to require accommodation from the Council; and

(b)               Who, in the opinion of the Authority, are in need of such accommodation and are unable to provide it from their own resources.

 

PERSONS WHO HAVE ALREADY APPLIED TO SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL FOR ACCOMMODATION NEED NOT RE-APPLY

 

Applications for inclusion in the assessment and submissions for consideration in the preparation of the Draft Traveller Accommodation Programme should be submitted to South Dublin County Council at the earliest possible date and preferably not later than 30th September 2004.
