Draft Local Area Plan

 

South Dublin County Council proposes to make a Local Area Plan for lands at Newcastle-Lyons which includes an area of 61.6 hectares (152 acres).  The County Council at its meeting of 14th July 2003 noted the Draft Local Area Plan which has been prepared following initial public consultation with the local community and includes the following aims:-

 

·         To provide a physical planning framework for the expansion of the existing Village of Newcastle-Lyons.

·         To facilitate development that integrates with the existing Village and is consistent with the character of a traditional Irish village settlement.

·         To ensure that new development is sensitive to the archaeological and historic significance of Newcastle.

·         To identify the services, infrastructure and amenities required to serve the expanded Village.

·         To detail a required schedule of phasing.

Copies of the Draft Newcastle-Lyons Local Area Plan will be displayed in public from 5th August, 2003 to 15th September, 2003 (inclusive) and may be inspected at the following location/times:

9.30am-3.30pm, Monday – Friday

St. Finians Hall,

Newcastle.

10.00am-1.00pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.

10.00am-1.00pm and 2.00pm-4.00pm Tuesday.

9.00am-4.00pm, Monday – Friday

A  report with recommendations on all valid submissions or observations received will be prepared and presented to the Members of the County Council for their consideration.
