Launch of ‘South Dublin:  A Place for People.  A Review of the Integrated Strategy for the Economic, Social and Cultural Development of South Dublin County 2002-2012 and Key Priorities 2006-2008’ by Mayor Therese Ridge in the presence of Minister Tom Kitt T.D. and Chair of the County Development Board, Cllr. Eamonn Tuffy, on Thursday 4th May at 3.30pm in the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley.

‘South Dublin:  A Place for People.  A Review of the Integrated Strategy for the Economic, Social and Cultural Development of South Dublin County 2002-2012 and Key Priorities 2006-2008’ was produced by South Dublin County Development Board.  The County Development Board is made up of members from Local Government, Local Development, State Agencies and Social Partners (see below for membership).  The County Development Board reviewed its strategy in 2005 and formulated an implementation plan for the period 2006-2008.

This review of the County Strategy has enabled South Dublin County Development Board and all of its sub-structures, the member agencies and the people involved, to learn from the past and collectively agree the key priorities for the next three years.  As well as identifying the priority actions for 2006-2008, the review provided an opportunity to revisit and refine the principles, approaches and structures associated with the South Dublin County Development Board process.

Some of the key achievements to date are:

  • County portal website online.
  • Annual Social Inclusion Awareness Week
  • Ongoing development of Community Forum & Platform
  • County Arts Infobase published on www.southdublin.ie
  • Economic Audit of South Dublin County
