Tallaght Youth Service Soccer Tournament Finals Sat. April 1st.at 3.45pm

Deputy Mayor Karen Warren on behalf of South Dublin County Council will present prizes at the Tallaght Youth Service Soccer Tournament Finals in the Astro Park Greenhill’s Road Tallaght on Sat. 1st April at 3.15 pm

The final of the Tournament will take place on Saturday 1st April at 3.15p.m. in Greenhills Road Astro Park, Tallaght, followed by a presentation at 4 pm. The young people taking part, aged from 12-17, are all engaged in projects for youth at risk. Most will have been involved with soccer academies facilitated by FAI coaches for over the past three years.

The objectives of the day are to provide an opportunity for young people to experience the challenge of soccer at a competitive level; to demonstrate the value of multi agency working; to attain positive recognition from their community, and to develop the relationships between young people and service providers in the community i.e
Dublin Bus and the Gardaí

Sinead McDonagh, KEY Project Co-ordinator, says “we hope to provide a fun event where young people can work together to explore their individual talents and skills through the medium of sport.”

Youth Clubs Involved are ;
ADAPT youth club part of the School Completion Programme, Gardai Youth Diversion Projects funded by Department of Justice through An Garda Siochana (i.e. KEY project, JAY project, YEW project)all managed by Tallaght Youth Service, a youth service operated by Foroige in partnership with County Dublin VEC.

Tallaght Youth Service, School Completion- Old Bawn & St. Dominic’s, Dublin Bus, Football Association of Ireland, Gardaí

Teams Each team consists of 7 members played to 5 a side rules (i.e. two substitutes).
