In Context 3 Public Art Opportunities

In Context 3 is south Dublin County Councils per cent for art programme

IT AIMS TO PROMOTE PUBLIC ART PROJECTS WITHIN SOUTH
DUBLIN COUNTY, IRELAND, WHICH ENCOURAGE ARTISTIC
AMBITION ACROSS ALL ART DISCIPLINES AND WHICH INVOLVE
AN ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH CONTEXT, SITUATION,
COMMUNITY AND PLACE > ACCORDINGLY, APPLICATIONS ARE
INVITED FOR THE FOLLOWING OPPORTUNITIES:
INCONTEXT

ARTISTIC RESIDENCIES: The programme’s five Artistic Residencies will last for two-years, during which resident artists will make regular visits to South Dublin County and creatively interact with people and place. Residencies are open to • Practicing artists in any art form or discipline
• Interdisciplinary teams (including artists of any discipline or artist-led teams of non-arts professionals/others)
•Curators in any art form discipline whose work involves close collaboration with artist(s).

ROADS COMMISSION: The Roads Commission offers artists the opportunity, either individually or collaboratively, to consider the concept of “the road” and make an imaginative proposal for a site-based visual artwork in South Dublin County. Proposed site visit 7 February 2006 – please contact Public Art Co-ordinator as below for further details.

MEDIATION: The Mediation Commission will run parallel to the rest of the programme. The mediator(s) will develop and manage a mediation programme informed by creative and new ways of facilitating connection, communication and interaction between the artist, the art and the community. This commission is open to artists of any discipline, arts facilitators/educators, curators
or others with an interest and/or experience in creating links between artists, art, audiences and context. Applications may be made by individuals or a team.

EVALUATION: Services are sought for an independent evaluation of IN CONTEXT 3 to be undertaken over the course of the programme. The aim is to assess all aspects of IN CONTEXT 3 in terms of its established objectives, to document the overall progress of the programme, and to produce an evaluation report that articulates learnings gained and makes recommendations for
future commissioning in South Dublin County. Applications may be made by an individual or a team.
