SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL STATEMENT
Queries raised by a number of press contacts in relation to Housing application by Helen Gallagher
Following a recent incident, the Council has had ongoing contact with Helen through our Housing Welfare Officers, Anti Social Investigation Officers and staff of the Allocations Section. It is the Council’s intention to continue to discuss the matter with Helen directly, and we will be in touch with her as soon as there are any developments with her application.
Helen has been advised that she is being considered for housing in the areas for which she has expressed a preference. However at this time, the Council does not have another house available that is suitable to the needs of Helen and her family. The Council will be in contact with Helen as soon as a suitable house becomes available.
The Council will continue to provide for emergency accommodation to be made available to Helen and her family for as long as it is required.
The Council is also investigating the provision of suitable private rented accommodation through contacts with the Health Service Executive’s Community Welfare Office.
