Recycling of Christmas Trees

Back to List

07/12/2005

Archived item. This item is published here for historical reasons. The information below may be out of date.

From Monday 9th January 2006, the public are invited to bring their Christmas Trees to the following locations throughout the county and have them recycled.

Alternatively, it would help us greatly if the public could bring the trees directly to the Green Waste Recycling Centre at

Esker Lane
in Lucan.  Please note that only one Christmas tree per vehicle will be accepted free of charge.

The trees will be put through a woodchipper and the resulting material will be spread as a mulch to assist in weed control around trees and shrubberies in parks and open spaces.

Recycling also means a reduction in the volume of material that goes to landfill sites.
