New arrangements at Green Waste Centre at Esker Lane, Lucan.
South Dublin County Council announces changes to the acceptance policy in the Green Waste Centre at Esker Lane, Lucan. The green waste recycling service will continue to be available for the recycling of household green waste. Shredding of green waste material will cease at the centre and the material will be taken off site for processing in a licensed outlet.
The range of vehicles using the centre will be limited; trucks and skips will no longer be admitted. While the entrance fee will remain the same for cars, there will be an increase in charges for all other classes of vehicles.
These changes will come into effect from Tuesday 3rd January 2006.
These measures are taken in order to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) requirements with regard to the certification for the centre and to implement the Polluter Pays Principle.
South Dublin County Council will continue to provide a service for the recycling of green waste material for householders of the county thus reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
