STATEMENT TO PRIMETIME

All of us in South Dublin County Council extend our very sincere sympathy once again to Willie and Lisa and the wider McGinley family on the tragic deaths of young Michael and Joe.

We will be happy to take part in any programme to discuss all of the issues surrounding this tragedy when the garda and other investigations that are on-going have concluded.  We would also welcome the opportunity to talk about the wider Traveller issues and the Councils’ now considerable progress on the delivery of accommodation, provision of employment and promotion of education with Travellers.

Our thoughts are with the family at they endure this overwhelming grief particularly over this next most difficult week.
