South Dublin Libraries has won the overall prize in the Children’s Book Festival ‘Design a Bookmark’ competitionThis is a national annual competition and we are proud that Kerzia Wright, a borrower in the mobile library at Glen na Smol N.S. won first prize in the aged 10 and under category out of a total of entrants from 25 counties. The judge was esteemed Bisto prize-winning illustrator PJ Lynch who said that Kerzia showed wonderful promise as an illustrator.
South Dublin also won the overall prize in 2003. The prize includes having the winning design made into a bookmark which is used as the official bookmark for the following year’s festival. This national competition is only in existence for 3 years so two out of three ain’t bad!
