Mayor Robert Dowds  on behalf on South Dublin County Council will officially launch the South Dublin County Art Aid exhibition in the Civic Theatre, Tallaght on Sunday March 13th at 7pm.

The exhibition is part of South Dublin County Council’s Fundraising/Awareness week, 13th – 20th March, 2005, in support of the Tsunami Disaster in Asia and other natural and man made disasters in Africa.  Proceeds from the sale of art work will go to associated charities including Christian Aid Ireland, Concern, Irish Red Cross, and Trocaire.

South Dublin County Art Aid exhibition promises to be an excitingly diverse exhibition.  The art work contributed by both established and emerging artists includes paintings, prints, drawings and photographs in a wide range of styles and media.  The breath of the display encompasses dramatic sharp-focus photographs, intriguing etchings, remarkable oils in figurative and more abstract styles, restful gouache landscapes and strong pencil on paper works.

Without doubt, there’s something to special to appeal to everyone’s taste and pocket.
