Launch of Art Exhibition ‘Essence’ by Louise Lonergan in Lucan Library on Monday 29th November at 8.15pm
Louise Macmanus Lonergan comes from Templeogue originally. She graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1996.Her first love is to paint and draw.
After college, Louise taught in schools and worked in Multimedia for "Riverdeep", an educational software co., before lecturing in Multimedia in the Institute of Technology, Tallaght. While here, Louise developed the Multimedia curriculum for the NCEA Diploma and Degree AV communications course.Since then she has married and is now rearing a family.
Recently Louise has founded the "Homemakers" Social Club in Lucan. The aim of this club is to help create a strong peer-based community in the area, and thus to address the modern phenomena of isolation in suburbia. Louise is also involved in Life-coaching, which she practises in a Lucan Medical centre.
Louise loves simplicity in life and expression. It is the essence of her work., the drama in the moment; the quiet scenes in nature that we don't stop to enjoy; the benevolence in a simple animal; the beauty of a lonely place ..
Louise's exhibition has been christened "Essence", not essence of anything, but "of" everything.
Some of the proceeds of the sales from the exhibition will go to "Citywise", a charity which helps childrens' educational needs.
