Mayor Robert Dowds pays tribute to Kitty Jones as she celebrates her 100th birthday.Kathleen ‘Kitty’ Jones was born in Blackrock,Blessington,County Wicklow on 8th August 1904 and was one of 14 children. Kitty spent her married life with her late husband Thomas in Bohernabreena in the Dublin Mountains where she raised her son Noel and following Thomas’ death went to live with Noel,his wife Dora and their family in Glenasmole.
Kitty now enjoys the gardens and comfort of Rye Vale Nursing Home Leixlip where she is a firm favourite with the staff who joined in her well for centenary celebrations.
