Accelerated Programme of Gas Fired Central Heating Installations in Council Rented Dwellings

South Dublin County Council has launched a programme for the installation of gas fired central heating systems in those council rented dwellings that do not currently enjoy the benefit of gas central heating systems.

The programme is being carried out over the  five-year period

2004-2008 with the aim of providing gfch to approx 800/l000 houses per annum.   The programme commenced in May 2004.

Priority is being determined on the basis of age cohorts of the Council’s

Housing Stock, senior citizens and persons with special needs.

The Programme is being Project Managed by Bord Gais using contractors appointed to their panel of approved Installers.

A Tenant Liaison Officer will shortly be appointed to the Tallaght/Rathfarnham and Lucan/Clondalkin areas to oversee the successful delivery of the programme of works on the ground in consultation with the Project Manager Bord Gais, its contractors, residents and the County Architects Department.

The  following is a list of Estates which have been identified for inclusion in the 2004 Programme.

Progress Report.

There have been 110 gas connections completed so far and 48 completed full gas heating systems installed in the following estates , Lealand Estate, Neilstown Estate, Lindisfarne Estate, Killinarden Estate, Knockmore Estate, St Aonghus Estate, Tara Hill and Balrothery Estate. Work in progress in 33 houses.
