Mayor Máire Ardagh to meet with the Mayor of Valencia on a visit to the Parent Child Psychological Support Programme(PCPS) at the Mary Mercer Centre Jobstown

This Parent Child Psychological Support Programme was set up in 2001 in the new Mary Mercer Health Centre.  It is offered universally to parents of all new born children in the catchment area of the Health Centre - that means that you can be a first time parent or a third, fourth or fifth!

The programme is offered by a variety of professionals who have had extensive training with Professor Angeles Cerezo of the University in Valencia, Spain.

Six visits are offered during the first 18 months of a child's life.

The programme looks at how each child is developing in all aspects of his/her life - it also supports the developing relationships between the child and his/her parents and aims to support the adults in their parenting tasks.  Fathers are most welcome on the visits.
