Mayor Maire Ardagh launches a Celebration of Cultural Diversity:   Working against racism in the Community,     in St. Maelruan’s Parish Centre Tallaght on Wednesday 24th March as part of the International Week against Racism.

Celebrating Cultural Diversity in South Dublin County is an important way of promoting social inclusion in the County and the collaborative efforts of Tallaght Intercultural Action(TIA) and the Local Organising Committee for the International Week against Racism have  brought together a day of celebration with guest speakers, cultural and heritage displays, entertainment and exhibitions.

Over the past ten years since the establishment of the County, South Dublin has grown into a diverse and vibrant place where many new communities have settled. Events, initiatives and organisations that create a positive awareness and understanding of cultural diversity are vital and therefore South Dublin County Council is particularly delighted to be supporting this day of  intercultural celebrations .
