South Dublin County Council is holding a Major Commercial Property Expo in Tallaght Stadium on Thursday the 2nd of October 2014 as one of a range of initiatives to support and sustain economic activity in the County.
This event provides an opportunity for commercial agents and investors to showcase commercial development opportunities in the South Dublin County Council area.
As part of this event South Dublin County Council, in conjunction with South Dublin Chamber will launch the findings of an Economic Profiling Survey of the County. This survey, conducted over a period of five months included direct engagement by project personnel calling to meet and directly engage with local business at their premises’. This survey will inform future investment decisions and economic policy for the County.
South Dublin County has a diverse economy with over 6500 businesses including several blue chip national and international corporations e.g. Microsoft, Google, Takeda, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, SAP and Independent News and Media.
Key economic sectors in the county include bio-pharma, information technology, communications,electronics, hospitality, retail, transport, internationally traded services and prepared food. Main locations for employment include Tallaght, Citywest, Ballymount and Grange Castle Business Park. In addition to being an employment base for its indigenous population some 30,000 people travel to work in the county daily with 78,000 people employed in the County. The highly accessible edge of city location of the county in the context of road and rail networks together with the availability of quality Brownfield and Greenfield sites makes it an obvious location for future investment and job creation.
The event is on Thursday 2nd of October, 2014 from 8.30am to 12.30pm in Tallaght Stadium, Tallaght, Dublin 24
The event will include exhibitions of available commercial/industrial sites by South Dublin County Council and Commercial Agents and will include the launch of an Economic Profile Report of the County.
Admission and parking at Tallaght Stadium is free.
