In welcoming this new grant scheme the Mayor of South Dublin County, Councillor Dermot Looney, said: “I welcome this initiative to improve the appearance of shopfronts in the villages of our County. This initiative is in addition to the Business Support Grant fund of €1.2 million launched last month and is a further example of the strong supports we are making available to retailers in our County. Shop owners can find out more about the grant at www.sdcc.ie. I am also very supportive of the plans to set up retail forums in our County. Businesses and residents alike can benefit from forums such as these to discuss local concerns.”

Peter Byrne, CEO of South Dublin Chamber of Commerce added that, “through the Business Support Programme we can maximise the supports that are available to businesses to keep them strong, sustainable and growing, through this programme we can  ensure our local economy is well placed to meet the challenges ahead. We believe this partnership model offers a route map to other counties to drive economic development”.
