Mayor turns the sod on new sports pavilion in Tymon Park.
Mayor Dermot Looney turned the sod on the Tymon Athletic Sports Clubs (TASC) pavilion in Tymon Park on Friday 15th November.
The pavilion will provide changing facilities, storage and meeting rooms for a number of sports clubs using Tymon Park. The clubs include Rounder’s Club, Tallaght City FC, Kilnamanagh AFC, Limekiln FC, Oddsox Softball Club, Dodder Dynamos’ Softball Club, Earl Celtic FC, FC Centurions, AFC Justice, Terenure College Rugby Club and the Walking Trials Club of Ireland. This project is funded through the Sports capital grant and will be ready for use early in 2014.
Mayor Looney said “I am delighted to turn the sod on this TASC project. As a daily user of Tymon Park, I know this facility will improve the experience of the many clubs already using the park by giving them proper changing rooms, storage facilities and better amenities all round. I want in particular to pay tribute to Limekiln Rounder’s Club who have worked since 1997 for the delivery of a project like this in the park”. He also said “South Dublin County Council is committed to improving facilities within the County and encouraging young and old to use the parks for both passive and active recreation. The development of the TASC pavilion illustrates this”
