SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL Art/Writing Competition

Celebrating Social Inclusion and the Gathering

Friday 15th November 2013

South Dublin County Council Chamber, Tallaght

On Friday 15th November at 3.00 pm in the Council Chamber, County Hall, Tallaght, Mayor Dermot Looney will announce the winners of the Art/Writing Competition on Celebrating Social Inclusion and the Gathering.

There were 600 entries received for the competition. This competition provided the children with the opportunity to develop their learning experiences by showing their creativity through language and art. In an age of technology it is wonderful that they get to use their artistic skills whenever possible.

One of the quotes from the children was “The tea party is not all about tea it is also about friendship and caring for one another” and “I would like others to have fun at the tea party. I would put star dust, laughter, sunshine and friendship into the teapot”.

Here in South Dublin County we want to develop an inclusive county where every child has the opportunity to participate and reach their true potential.
