Public Consultation on Draft Ballycullen-Oldcourt Area Plan

The Ballycullen-Oldcourt Lands (125 hectares) stretch across the foothills of the Dublin Mountains and form a buffer between the suburban areas of Tallaght, Firhouse and Knocklyon with the Dublin Mountains. While development has commenced on the eastern side of this suburban fringe, over 90 Hectares of zoned lands still remain undeveloped and there are a number of sensitivities in relation to Green Infrastructure and the amenities of the Dublin Mountains.

Following on from pre-draft public consultation carried out over a four week period between April and May 2013, South Dublin County Council has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan (see accompanying Plan Illustration) and is undertaking consultation from Friday 18th October 2013 to Thursday 28th November 2013 (inclusive). This draft consultation provides further opportunity for local ideas to be heard and taken into consideration before the Local Area Plan is made.

The proposed Local Area Plan and Environmental Reports (Strategic Environmental Assessment Report and Appropriate Assessment Screening) can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.sdublincoco.ie and can also be viewed at County Library (Tallaght), County Hall (Tallaght) and at the new Park Community Centre (Ballycragh Park), during normal opening hours.
