Green Business event 10th October 2013

South Dublin County Council is holding a Green Business event in the Red Cow Moran’s hotel on the Thursday 10th October from 12- 2pm.

The topic of the event is environmental focusing on the area of waste management. This event will examine how businesses can reduce costs, decrease environmental impact and benefit from supports that are available from different sources. This will be 2 hours well spent as it will provide guidance on how simple innovations that have zero cost to your business can make huge financial savings. It will also allow time for you to network with similar businesses, form alliances and perhaps share resources. If you are a new business looking to start up, it will also highlight the benefits of going green from the start.

Businesses in the past have saved money by managing their waste stream and taking simple steps. One company saved €30, 000 on water and waste reduction per annum by introducing spray heads on hoses used for washing and reduced flow on taps. They also turned leftover materials in to a new product for sale saving on waste management and creating a new income stream, reducing waste costs by €7,500 per annum and making an additional €8,000 – good economic and environmental sense.

Stands at the event will include

    • Enterprise Ireland
    • Green Business.ie
    • CTC Clean Technologies Cork
    • South Dublin County Enterprise board
    • South Dublin Chamber of Commerce
    • SMILE resource exchange
