Community action equals Educate Credits in Tallaght
Educate credits were launched by South Dublin County Council’s Mayor Cathal King, Mr Pat McLaughlin, President of Institute of Technology Tallaght and County Manager Danny McLoughlin with members of Dominic’s Community centre and North Clondalkin Tidy Towns in the Institute of Technology Tallaght on Thursday 6th June.
The Mayor Cathal King said “This is a wonderful project and I wish it every success. This will be an opportunity for communities to support individuals to go back to education. This project also demonstrates partnership at its best with the Institute of Technology, County Dublin VEC and South Dublin County Council coming together to support communities and education.â€
“This initiative seeks to recognise and reward those socially driven people who enhance lives or environments in the communities we serve. We hope to create a new pathway to education for people who may otherwise not get the chance because of current financial or other constraints†said Mr Pat McLaughlin, President of Institute of Technology Tallaght who added “We are delighted to once again partner the Council and VEC on this scheme and working together on initiatives such as this we can continue to make a real difference to the lives of the people in the region.â€
Educate Credits are a reward for being proactive in the community and allow free access to courses on the part-time programme in Institute of Technology Tallaght.
Educate Credits can be earned in either of 2 ways
