“THE HAUNTED†was spooktacular
“THE HAUNTED†was an evening filled with HalloScreams and the Spooktacular and this was all created by the young people of the County. The festivities took place in Tallaght and Clondalkin with a display of scary lanterns and figures and finished up with music, dance and games to celebrate Halloween in a safe and fun way. For months in the run up to Halloween, youth groups in Tallaght and Clondalkin worked at creating scary lanterns and figures which were used in the HAUNTED.
Mayor Cathal King said “I am really impressed by the creativity displayed by the young people in Tallaght at THE HAUNTED. There were all the elements of Halloween - fun, games and dressing up.†He added “I hope that the HAUNTED will continue to grow and become the way we celebrate Halloween in South Dublin County – in a safe fun wayâ€
Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Mattie McDonagh, attended the HAUNTED at Collinstown Sports Complex and said “The lanterns made by the young people of Clondalkin created a great display. The costumes added to the occasion and there was a marvelous display of music, dance and games. I want to congratulate all the groups involved.â€
Local businesses-The Square Shopping centre, Veolia Transport, Marks & Spencer’s & Clondalkin Sports and Leisure Centre also got involved in the spirit of the night and sponsored spots prizes for all “THE HAUNTED†competition categories :
