Mayor Cllr. Cathal King presents Community Awards and Beautiful South

The Community and Beautiful South Dublin County Awards aim to acknowledge, promote and recognise the work of community and voluntary organisations within the administrative area of South Dublin County Council. There is an immense richness and variety of voluntary organisations working in South Dublin and this initiative in some small way tries to recognise the efforts of those who carry out this valuable work. All community organisations whose activities have made a difference in their community and have had a beneficial effect on the residents were eligible to enter.
At a function in the Civic Theatre, the Mayor, Cllr. Cathal King, presenting the awards, spoke highly of the work of the volunteers in the community and how the County would be a poorer place without them.
