To celebrate Global Youth Service Day South Dublin County Council Comhairle na nOg will exhibit DVDs of our recent events in The Big Picture, Tallaght, Dublin 24. Both DVDs celebrate the contributions and recommendations made by young people in South Dublin County through Comhairle na nOg and Comhairle na bPist which took place earlier this year. South Dublin County Comhairle na nOg works very closely with South Dublin County Council Arts Office, Sports Office and Social Inclusion Unit as well as Local Youth Services, Barnardos and The Irish Wheelchair Association. Comhairli na nOg are local youth councils, which give children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services and policies. It provides the youth of South Dublin County with an opportunity to identify and discuss matters which affect their daily lives, and is a place for young people to pass on their views and concerns to decision-makers in both local and national government. South Dublin County Comhairle na nOg was selected as one of three projects to be evaluated as examples of best practice that other Comhairl across the country can emulate.

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is an annual global event that highlights and celebrates the ongoing contributions of youth to their communities through volunteer service and service-learning.
