South Dublin County Council Congratulates Bernard Dunne

Mayor Marie Corr, South Dublin County Council sends her congratulations to Bernard Dunne, the new WBA Super-Bantamweight World Champion. Bernard, from Clondalkin defeated Ricardo Cordoba with an eleventh round knock-out in the early hours of Sunday morning, the 22^nd March, at the O2 Arena in Dublin.

The Neilstown boxer began his professional boxing career in 2001.

South Dublin County Council and all the people of the County and especially everyone in Clondalkin, send their congratulations to Bernard on his memorable victory says Mayor Marie Corr. We are very proud of his wonderful achievement and look forward to welcoming him to South Dublin as one of Irelands great sporting champions.

Mayor Corr said Bernards courage and determination in his success will encourage our youth to get involved in sport. He will stand as a role model for all the young people of the County.
