Public Notice of

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures for Palmerstown

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposed provision by South Dublin County Council of the above scheme and a description of the proposed works follows:

The proposed works consist of the following:

  1. Altering the traffic flows by implementing a series of one way movements as follows

a) The Oval: from Palmerstown Avenue to Turret Road

b) Woodfarm Drive: from Turret Road to Manor Road

c) Turret Road: from Glenmaroon Road to Woodfarm Drive

d) Concrete build-out at no. 2 Turret Road,

2. Provision of parking bays at The Oval and Woodfarm Drive, this will entail the removal of a small number of roadside trees,

3. The installation of bollards in the following laneways

a) side of 91/93 Palmerstown Avenue

b) 35/37 Palmerstown Avenue

c) Rear of 59 Turret Road and 90 Palmerstown Avenue,

4. Associated road signage and road markings.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection, or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at:

(a) South Dublin County Council Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 between the hours of 9.00am 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 9.00am -4.30pm each Friday (Inspection and purchase),

(b) St Brigids Girls National School, The Oval, Palmerstown, School Hours (Inspection only),

(c) St Lorcans Boys National School, The Oval, Palmerstown, School Hours (Inspection only),

(d) The plans and particulars can also be viewed on the County Councils website www.southdublin.ie.

From Wednesday 11th March 2009 until Friday 8th May 2009.

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated may be made in writing before 4:30pm on Friday 22nd May 2009 to The Senior Executive Officer, Roads and Traffic Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
