Getting Ready for Halloween Fun

(Its Hallowfest! Its time for tricks, treats and lotsa spooky fun or this heading)

This October Bank Holiday Sunday 26th & Monday 27th, visit Tallaght and the Dublin Mountains and experience lots of magical, spooky fun when the area comes alive for Hallowfest 2008.

Fire Jugglers, Lion Dancers, African Drummers, Samba Dancers and Halloween Characters will kick off the celebrations at 3.30pm on Sunday in Library Square Tallaght. The Hallowfest Ghostbus will be an experience not to be missed as you can listen to the spookiest stories on board a double decker vintage bus. Get ready for Halloween fun with Free face painting available on the day in both Tallaght County Library and Leisureplex.

Last years festival was a big hit, with thousands of people coming dressed up in their traditional and Halloween costume. The organisers promise an even bigger Hallowfest Parade with lots of sounds and colour which will leave at 5.00pm from Library Square to a fantastic Fireworks display lighting up the skies of South Dublin County from the Institute of Technology Tallaght.

And dont miss the Bank Holiday Monday activities which will be centred around the enchanting and mysterious Hell Fire Club site in the Dublin Mountains. There are some entertaining highlights to look forward to including a Spooky Treasure Hunt so wrap up well, wear walking shoes and be prepared as you never know what you will discover The best way to travel to the Hell Fire Club site is to use a free park n ride facility which will operate from South Dublin County Council car park leaving on the hour to the walks from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

This is just a small sample of whats on offer at this years Hallowfest which promises to be a fun filled event. So start the Halloween celebrations with us and dont forget your costume!!
