PRESS RELEASE HOMECOMING OF KENNY EGAN

On 26th August, Deputy Mayor Cllr Guss OConnell was among the many dignitaries who were present at Dublin Airport, to welcome Silver Medallist, Kenny Egan on his return home from the Beijing Olympics.

In his speech Deputy Mayor Guss OConnell said . All over South Dublin County people are delighted and proud of Kenny Egans achievement in winning an Olympic Silver Medal. Kenny has made us proud in the past with eight Irish Champion titles under his belt, however to achieve worldwide recognition winning a silver medal in the Olympic Light Heavyweight final is outstanding. You are a true role model and inspiration for all our youth. I also congratulate Neilstown Boxing Club your home club may you be the first of many great Olympians from the club.

South Dublin County Council hope to celebrate and honour Kennys success in the very near future
