Battle it out to be the best band in South Dublin County in 2008!
NOISE Concerts are a battle of the bands competition that takes place every October over four heats.
The competition is for young musicians in the County, ages 15 – 25, who create their own original music. An award of €1000 is given to the winning band towards studio time or the purchase of new equipment. In addition each band submitting will be featured on NOISE, South Dublin’s Creative Youth website (to go live in the autumn). Bands in the competition may have their music broadcast on Liffey Sound Radio and those who make it to the final will receive a DVD copy of their performance.
The heats will take place in the Civic Theatre on October 5th, 12th, and 19th at 8:15 pm. The final will be on Tuesday, October 28th at 8pm.
After winning last year’s NOISE Concert, Jezzebelle (pictured) went on to play support to acts like Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), Don Baker and Rob Strong as well as performing at The Carlsberg Rhythm & Roots Festival 2007. They have also been playing recently in the United States.

All work submitted will be made available on NOISE, South Dublin County’s website for creative young people when it goes live this autumn.
Judges for the event will be announced in August.
