Cllr Jim Ruttle, Chair of the West Wicklow Area Committee and members of the local community in Kilbride, Wicklow met with officials of South Dublin County Council and representatives of Rentokil on Thursday 19th June in the Council offices in Tallaght. The disposal of the fumigant discovered on the premises of Rentokil was discussed. Officials outlined the proposal and answered queries with regard to the operation. Everyone agreed that the interests of the local community were the main priority and commitments were given to work together to correct misinformation in the public arena and to continue to communicate regarding this matter.
South Dublin County Council gave assurances regarding the safety of the operation and said that every precaution is been taken to ensure the safe disposal the material. John Quinlivan, Senior Executive Officer said We are pleased to meet Cllr. Jim Ruttle and residents from Wicklow, in what was a very constructive and positive meeting. I would like once again to reassure the residents of the area that the main objective at all times is the safe disposal of the material
