As part of the Kildare Route Project, Iarnród Éireann will be carrying out a number of road works in the
Hazelhatch area to facilitate the major upgrade of the rail infrastructure in the area.
Residents of Hazelhatch should note the following, which will commence as and from May 12th 2008:
Stacumny Bridge
Stacumny Bridge, which has been fully rebuilt, will reopen. The bridge has been significantly upgraded to
provide improved vehicular and pedestrian access as well as facilitating the extra tracks underneath.
New Link Road
A new link road will open, which will link Elm Hall Road to the Celbridge Road.
Hazelhatch & Celbridge Station Bridge
This bridge will close to road traffic for a period of approximately nine months. While this bridge is closed,
vehicular traffic will be diverted onto the new link road. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
These essential works are being conducted in full consultation and with the approval of South Dublin County
Council and Kildare County Council. All works will be carried out in strict accordance with all the relevant
guidelines and stipulations laid down by the local authorities. These works will be advertised in advance and
road diversions signs will be erected to advise all road users,
Carparking at Hazelhatch and Celbridge Station
50% of the new car park at Hazelhatch and Celbridge Station is now open. Capacity will gradually increase to
the full 400 spaces over the coming year. As part of the ongoing works at the station, a new foot over-bridge
and lifts are being constructed so that the station will be fully accessible for those with mobility and sensory
impairments.
