BEAUTIFUL SOUTH DUBLIN SCHOOLS COMPETITION AWARDS

PRESS RELEASE 17th April 2008

Deputy Mayor Derek Keating presented the awards at the Beautiful South Dublin County Schools Competition Awards Ceremony on Thursday 17th April in the County Hall, Tallaght.

The competition is sponsored by South Dublin County Council and encourages students in primary and secondary schools to examine issues regarding the environment. This years theme was Litter. The entries included collages, models, posters and multimedia projects all on the theme of litter.

Deputy Mayor Derek Keating said Litter is a terrible problem and must be stopped. I can see that we are well on the way to making litter a problem of the past as all the entries we received for the competition show that students in schools in South Dublin County are fighting the problem.
