Press Release: Embargo: Tues 15th April
Between Earth, Sky & Home A new contemporary dance piece.
Gala Presentation Launched by Councillor and Deputy Mayor Eamonn Maloney at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght tonight.
Between Earth, Sky & Home is a new dance performance directed & choreographed by Ronach N Nill.
The work arises in partnership between Ronachs professional performance outfit Ciotg and 15 young dance artists between the ages of 8-15yrs from Ronanstown Youth Service.
The professional and non-vocational dancers have worked within this partnership, over a period of 18 months exploring themes that question the nature of dance; of creativity, of identity and of home.
In particular the work sets out to reflect the suburban lifestyle of North Clondalkin. Fiona Delaney, from Nth Clondalkin Arts Development Project (SDCC Arts Office) acts as animator, creating sketches of significant sites for the young participants, which compliment and inform the choreographic process.
This unique collaborative piece Between Earth, Sky & Home will have its final Gala Presentation tonight at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght hosted by Councillor & Deputy Mayor Eamonn Maloney.
