At a special meeting of South Dublin County Council held on Monday 7th April 2008 South Dublin County Council unanimously passed the following motion:

South Dublin County Council calls for the immediate release of Ingrid Betancourt, the kidnapped Colombian politician who holds the freedom of the county.
