M50 MOTORISTS WARNED TO EXPECT SOME DISRUPTION DURING THE WEEKEND AT N4 INTERCHANGE

29 February 2008: South Dublin County Council would like to advise motorists using the M50 in the vicinity of the N4 (Palmerstown) Interchange that there may be some disruption to traffic flows due to diversions that will be in place during the weekend to allow road surfacing and associated works to take place at these locations.

As part of this programme, motorists should note the following works scheduled for this coming weekend :

- At the N4 (Palmerstown) Interchange, the N4 eastbound to M50 northbound On-Ramp will be closed from 10pm on Friday 29th February to 8am on Saturday 1st March and traffic will be diverted to the east side of the Interchange through temporary signals to access the M50 northbound. This diversion will be repeated from 8pm on Saturday 1st March to 6am on Monday 3rd March.

- At the N4 (Palmerstown) Interchange, the N4 eastbound to M50 southbound On-Ramp will be closed from 10pm on Saturday 1st March until 8am on Sunday 2nd March And traffic will be diverted to the east side of the Interchange to through temporary signals to access the M50 southbound.

- At the N4 (Palmerstown) Interchange, the M50 southbound Off-Ramp to N4 eastbound and westbound will be closed from mid-night on Saturday 1st March until 10am on Sunday 2nd March. Motorists are asked to U-turn at the N7 (Red Cow) Interchange or use an alternative route.

- At the N7 (Red Cow) Interchange, the two dedicated lanes into the city will be reduced down to one lane from 10pm Friday 29th February until 6am on Monday 3rd March. (similar arrangement as 2 weeks ago)

Motorists are asked to allow extra time for their journey and slow down and follow the temporary diversion signage in place.

Roadworks at the N4 Interchange and M50 Mainline between the Ballymount Junction and Palmerstown Interchange are progressing well and are expected to be substantially completed by the end of March 2008.
