PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS 2000 2006

NOTICE OF PROPOSED VARIATION OF

SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2004 - 2010

(VARIATION NO. 4) NEWLANDS CROSS

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that South Dublin County Council has prepared a Proposed Variation of the South Dublin County Development Plan 2004 - 2010 in respect of lands at Newlands Cross, Clondalkin, County Dublin. It is proposed to vary the South Dublin County Development Plan 2004 2010 in the following manner.

It is proposed to delete the existing Specific Local Objective No. 52:

Construct a grade-separated junction at Newlands Cross, to include an appropriate local traffic and segregated pedestrian facility at ground level with the N7 through traffic below grade.

and to replace it with the new Specific Local Objective No. 52 as follows:

Construct a grade-separated junction at Newlands Cross.

The reason for the Variation would be to provide for the development of a grade separated junction at Newlands Cross and to permit various options to be explored in relation to the design and construction of the proposed junction.

In complying with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations, 2004, South Dublin County Council has determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment is not required.
