South Dublin County Councils Per Cent for Art Programme 2006-2009

Project Manager

This contract position involves the project management of In Context 3 South Dublin County Councils Per Cent for Art Programme. In 2006, five two year residency commissions, a roads commission, a mediation commission and an evaluation commission were awarded. Since September 2006, the artists, mediator and evaluator have become embedded in the programme. The programme was officially launched in December 2006.

The Project Manager, reporting to the Arts Officer, will:

        Support the participant artists in the delivery of projects.

        Support mediation and evaluation activities.

        Co-ordinate communication between the participant artists, the mediator, the evaluator and the public.

        Support ongoing PR activities of In Context 3 and the creation of public awareness regarding the commissions.

        Liaise with the commissioned artists as to the proposed nature of community involvement or participation, and subsequently with local representation in determining how this will be realized.

        Monitoring the time schedules for the delivery of artists proposals, making arrangements regarding health and safety compliance.

        Prepare a monthly report on the progress of the programme to the arts office.

        Liaise with Housing, Roads, Environmental Services and any other relevant services regarding the status of capital construction projects and the transfer of Per Cent for Art Funds to the Arts Office.

        Liaising with South Dublin County Council clerical staff regarding payments and other administration.

Particulars of Contract

The term of the contract is 18 months, including a six month probation period.

The Project Manager will be self employed and responsible for his/her own payment of taxes and P.R.S.I. contributions. Remuneration will be 42,000 pa inclusive of VAT.

Payment to the Project Manager will be on the basis of invoices submitted; the frequency of payments is to be agreed between the Project Manager and South Dublin County Council.
