Solo exhibition by Dublin based artist Linda OKeeffe in County Hall Tallaght.
On Tuesday 13th of February 2007 at 7.30pm Linda O Keefe will perform her most recent composition for voice and electronics Sentient 1, with vocals from singer/ songwriter Ise.
South Dublin County Councils first exhibition of the New Year will be officially launched by Mayor Eamonn Maloney in the Concourse of County Hall and the exhibition will continue in the office space until February 27th 2007.
Linda OKeeffes practice is marked by sound composition and installation. For the exhibition at the council offices her installation comprises of two separate sound pieces. The installation plays on the sonic spatial relationship by channelling the sound pieces through speakers described as sound showers. These sound showers are hung overhead and project sound in one direction eliminating any interference of competing noise when physically positioned beneath.
OKeeffe has exhibited in both Ireland and abroad and is a member of the artist group FAF. In 2005 she was commissioned by Dance Theatre of Ireland for sound composition and in 2006 was artist in resident at CAMAC Centre DArt, Paris. Linda OKeefe lives and works in Ireland.
