Students from Bolbrook;Avonbeg;Avonmore;St Dominics;and Homelawns to plant cherry trees as part of South Dublin County Councils environmental improvements project on Wednesday 31st January 24, 2007 at 11.45 am.

 

 

 

A tree planting day will take place at the Green area in front of Avonbeg and Homelawn estates next Wednesday 31 January at 11.45 am. The event has been organized by South Dublin County Councils Parks Dept and Estate Management section in conjunction with Tallaght Community Gardai and BADAH residents association.

 

Three local schools St Dominics; St Colmcilles and Scoil Santain will have students on hand to help with the planting of 25 cherry trees which are being provided by the Council. There will be 60 students involved, thereby allowing the young people to playing a leading role in environmental improvements for the area. The work is part of an overall plan by the Council to upgrade the Park by planting trees and bulbs; improving existing paths, and provision of new paths and gates. The park itself is in constant use by residents of 6 local estates -Bolbrook;Avonbeg;Avonmore;St Dominics;and Homelawns.

 

The Councils Estate Management Section hope that this event will promote further interaction between local agencies ,young people and local residents.
