Roads Act, 2004 Section 9

PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF A 30KM/H PERIODIC SPECIAL SPEED LIMIT ZONE FOR LUCAN SCHOOLS AS PART OF THE COUNTYWIDE SCHOOLS REVIEW

 

 

As part of The Schools Review Survey in relation to the cluster of schools in the environs of Old Lucan Road and Chapel Hill comprising the following four schools:

        Scoil Mhuire

        St. Josephs

        St Andrews

        St Marys

South Dublin County Council proposes to introduce a 30km/h periodic special speed limit in accordance with the procedures set out in Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004 in respect of the Old Hill Road, Lucan from a point 13 metres west of Public Lighting Pole No. 1 adjacent to the entrance to the Old Rectory in an easterly direction to its junction with Lucan Road and also Lucan Road from a point 3 metres South West of Public Lighting Pole No. 40 adjacent to the entrance to Esker Lawns in a North Easterly direction to a point 2 metres East of Public Lighting Pole No. 26 adjacent to Lucan Heights in the administrative County of South Dublin.

This bye-law shall come into operation on the 2nd April 2007 and shall be

effective from 7.30 a.m to 9.30 am and from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m on dates which are in accordance with the Department of Education & Science School Year and the Standardisation of the School Year document

 

A Draft Bye-Law showing the proposed periodic speed limit zone and associated map may be inspected at the Roads Department, South Dublin County Council, Civic Offices, Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24 from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Friday from Friday, 5th January, 2007 to Monday 5th February, 2007.

 

Objections or representations regarding this matter should be made in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads & Traffic Department, South Dublin County Council, County Hall, Town Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24. The latest date for receipt of objections or representations regarding this matter is 5.00 p.m. on Monday, 5th February, 2007.
