National Customer Service Week October 2-9th

Serving the Customer Better

Emphasis on even better Customer Care and Service Delivery.

South Dublin County Council provides 400 services, 52 weeks a year, some of these services the public would not be aware of, the local papers are covering a day in the life of a number of staff from South Dublin County Council, which will introduce some of our valuable people and a story of their daily lives.

During the Customer Services week, we will be carrying out a survey in our nine public offices (County Hall 2 locations, Clondalkin and 6 Branch libraries) asking people what they think and how we can improve our services. Survey forms will also be available on line. By participating in our survey you will be entered in to a draw for 200 shopping vouchers.

For the week staff are invited also to nominate a colleague or colleague(s) who have served the customer better  in any of their daily duties, either out and about, on the phone, at a counter or any action taken to provide a better service to either one or many of our customers

This week South Dublin County Council unveils it new Customer Care Action Plan, which sets out what you the public can expect from us. This plan is available on our internet and sets out the response time targeted by the staff of the Council to deal with your enquiry, the level of quality care you can expect, our methods of communication with you and how a customer may make a complaint, comment or indeed compliment.

Our Customer Care Centre at County Hall is the first point of contact for personal callers, our team of staff here, are highly informed and can deal with 80% of enquiries first hand without onward referral. The customer care team assist 25,000 callers to the centre, a year and handle approximately 1400 telephone queries per day, which are dealt with in a confidential and professional manner. To contact customer care please phone 01 4149000.

We also provide a facility for specialized queries, where arrangements can be made for appropriate staff to deal with your enquiry or problem. In order to further facilitate our customers County Hall is open through lunch, both the counter and telephones.
